Introduction to

Contemporary Photochromics

3 Credits ABO/2 Credits, FL
 

Level: This course is intended for basic, intermediate and advanced dispensing opticians with one more more years of optical experience.  A working knowledge of ophthalmic lens characteristics is required.

Pricing:  This three hour course is $45 for Academy members or $60 for Nonmembers. 

Course Description:  An advanced review of modern photochromic lenses and all the factors that play a role in the performance of photochromic lenses will be discussed.  Basic factors that have an effect on the performance of these changeable lenses is explained.  The best ways to explain and demonstrate photochromic lenses are covered along with detailed instructions on the dispensing of photochromic lenses.

Instructional Objectives:

Upon completion of Contemporary Photochromics, the student should be able to:

 1.  Describe the factors that control the quality and performance of modern photochromic lenses

2.  Explain and demonstrate the patient benefits provided by photochromic lenses

3.  Distinguish potential candidates for photochromic lenses.
