hour course is $30 for Academy members or $40 for Nonmembers. Instructional Objectives: Upon completion of Contemporary Photochromics, the student should be able to: a) Explain the difference between ethics and laws b) Explain the difference between how ethics and laws shape our behavior c) Describe the basis for optical minimum standards and tolerances d) Design an optical cross in order to analyze an ophthalmic prescription e) Explain how the Snellen visual acuity system is designed for visual assessment f) Describe the effect to human vision from tinted ophthalmic lenses and automobile windshields g) Explain various origins for visual asthenopia h) Solve prismatic error problems i) Solve vertex distance compensation problems j) Define various refractive errors k) Evaluate how an uncompensated vertex distance prescription can affect human vision l) Discuss ethical versus unethical opticianry behavior with respect to visual acuity m) Describe the communication skills necessary for avoiding ethical quandaries with optical professionals Include payment with the answer sheet as you mail or fax it back to the Academy for grading.
