We cordially invite you to join the National Academy of Opticianry. The Academy is the only national, not-for-profit organization dedicated solely to providing educational and training opportunities for all opticians.
Fellow membership is available to anyone who is certified by the ABO (American Board of Opticianry) and/or the NCLE (National Contact Lens Examiners), or who holds a state opticianry license. Your designation will be “FNAO” (Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry.) Otherwise, you may join as an Associate member. “NAO” will be your designation.
Dues are only $75 per fiscal year (June 1 through May 31). It is worth mentioning that the NAO has not had a dues increase in 25 years. All the while, Academy members continue to receive free or substantially discounted CE live, online webinars, Certification Exam prep tools, home study and online continuing education courses, and apprenticeship training recognized by 12 states as one way aspiring Opticians can earn required training and education.
