The NAO Annual Meeting will be held on November 7, 2026 at 4:20 PM Eastern Time.
In accordance with Article IV, Section 1 of the Bylaws of the National Academy of Opticianry, notice is hereby given that the NAO Annual Meeting will be held on November 7, 2026 at 4:20 PM Eastern Time immediately following the completion of the NAO/SECO webinars. An Extraordinary Action will be presented during the meeting. A summary of the essential terms and conditions of the proposed Extraordinary Action follows:
The Board of Directors will present a motion to approve the dissolution of NAO and the merger or asset transfer of all NAO assets, agreed-upon obligations, programs, and operations into the United Opticians Association (UOA). Completion will be subject to due diligence conducted by the joint Steering Committee, the boards and staff of NAO and UOA, and any additional parties required to ensure timely completion. The agreement shall be completed and take effect no later than December 31, 2026.
